Bruce W. Priest

PO-BrucePriestOB    ABBOT – Bruce W. Priest, 46, died February 24, 2015, at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born May 27, 1968, the son of Wilfred and Lee (Printy) Priest.
Bruce graduated from P.C.H.S, class of 1987; and as a well-known local athlete was on the 1986 State Championship soccer team. He also graduated from the University of Southern Maine in class of 1991. Bruce taught and coached at several of the area schools, including PCHS, Old Town High School, Bingham High School, Sedomocha, and PCMS.
In 2005, he left teaching and started his own company, Northwoods Builders, and was well known for his craftsmanship.
He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family. Bruce also loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, skiing or working in his garden. Although he left teaching, he continued his involvement with the schools; most recently helping to re-start the PCMS learn to ski program, was a member of the SAD #4 School Board, and was active in the Rec Program. He was also very involved with the student exchange program and had kept in touch with many of the families that he was close to.
He was a great prankster and always had a great smile.
He is survived by his wife, Eva (Pullyard) Priest; and two children, Mariah Priest and Zack Priest, all of Abbot; his parents; a brother, Terry Priest and his companion, Melissa Smith; a sister, Crystal Priest, all of Guilford; and special friends, Allen Drew of Guilford, and Tom Landberg and his wife, Jessica of Durham; many aunts, uncles, a niece, a nephew, and several cousins.
A celebration of Bruce’s life was held Monday, March 2, 2015, at the multi-purpose room at Grace Bible Church in Sangerville. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to a scholarship fund in Bruce’s name, and may be left at any of the offices of the Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Guilford.
