DOVER-FOXCROFT — On the evening of Friday, Feb. 27, starting at 6 p.m., students at SeDoMoCha Middle School will display a wide array of skills during the annual talent show. In years past the showcase has featured singing, dancing, magic acts and more, and the 2015 edition promises to again feature a variety of the students’ skills.

TENNIS ANYONE? — During the SeDoMoCha Middle School talent show on Friday, Feb. 27 seventh-grader Ben Atwater will demonstrate his ability to get his body through a pair of tennis racquets. The showcase of student talents will start at 6 p.m.
Seventh-grader Ben Atwater will be demonstrating a unique ability, as Atwater will take a pair of tennis racquets — with one smaller than the other and both with the netting removed — and contort his body to pass it through the two pieces of athletic equipment in what the talent show program will describe as “Tennis anyone?”
Atwater, who had classmate Jacob Ireland assisting him, demonstrated his tennis racquet skills on Feb. 13, starting alone in the hallway and then having an audience of passing elementary students. “(Grade 7 social studies teacher Derek Carroll) asked me if I could do it and I just tried,” Atwater said.
The seventh-grader said he won’t be nervous passing through the tennis racquets in front of an audience, mentioning how he has performed in plays before (as has Ireland). Atwater said when he takes to the stage on Feb. 27 “there will be a couple of other things” in his act, but “it’ll be a surprise.”
