‘Spooky Love’ at the Center Theatre
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Center Theatre and the Slightly Off Center Players present “Spooky Love: A Night Of One Act Plays.” Join them Friday, Feb. 13 and Valentine’s Day Saturday, Feb. 14 for a family-friendly night of love gone wrong, love that’s silly and love gone a little bit spooky. The shows start at 7 p.m. Come early, grab some props and capture your night at the photo booth in the lobby. Chocolate roses will also be for sale to snack on or give to that special someone. Admission is by donation (suggested donation is $10).
“Happily Never After” is an all kid’s production directed by Sarah Plante. Throw everything you thought you knew about “happily ever after” right out the window. Mr. Grimm, marriage counselor to the royals, tries to fix the mixed up lives of famous fairy tale princes and princesses.
“Obsession,” written, directed and performed by local high school students, is about a high school crush that turns into an obsession. From stalking to a break in, Kameron is wondering what else could possibly go wrong. Someone is watching.
“Last Man on Earth” is directed by Patrick Myers. Can a guy finally get the girl of his dreams when he actually is the last man on Earth? There will be a brief intermission following.
“Without You (I Can’t Live)” is written and directed by Theresa Sneed and is the story of a man and a woman separated by death. Lydia is heartbroken and unable to go on. Then comes the magical moment when she realizes that though her husband, Rob, is dead his spirit is still is very much alive.
“Waiting To Be Probed: A Love Story” is a new play written and directed by Bobby Keniston. A socially awkward man and woman are both abducted by aliens and meet for the first time on a spaceship. Are they destined to fall in love, or are they just stuck together until their captors from another world decide to let them go?
