Indoor track results

    ORONO — The Foxcroft Academy boys came in fifth out of seven teams, with a score of 46 points, during an Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet Jan. 24 at the University of Maine.
    Junior Cooper Nelson was the meet winner in the mile. His time of 4 minutes, 43.93 seconds gave him first place by about a second and a half. Nelson also finished third in the 800 at 2:09.93.

    Two Ponies had second-place performances. Senior Justin Diamond was the 200 runner-up at 24.97 seconds, and placing second in the shot put was senior Peter Boyer with a top throw of 44 feet, 3.75 inches.
    Senior Zhe Chen came in third in the long jump at 18-00.25. Also in third was the Pony 4×200 relay team. Senior Julian Zepeda, sophomore Jason Eubanks and seniors Dylan Richards and Diamond combined for a time of 1:41.08.
    Eubanks placed sixth in the 55 at 7.27 seconds, and coming in sixth in the 200 was Zepeda with a time of 25.96 seconds.
    The Foxcroft girls earned 18 points to place sixth out of seven schools.
    Leading the way was senior Fern Morrison, the meet’s winner in the 800. Morrison ran a time of 2:28.94 to finish in first place by over four seconds. She also came in third in the 400 at 1:02.71.
    Junior Desirae Brawn had the other two Pony points. Brawn was fifth in the shot with a throw of 26-07.25.
    The Ponies will be back in action at the New Balance Field House Saturday at noon, the final tune-up before the PVC championships on Feb. 7. “We are trending in the right direction as we approach championship season,” said Head Coach Graham Pearsall.
