DOVER-FOXCROFT — Two men were killed Thanksgiving morning in a collision on Route 15, according to police.
William Viney, 71, of Sangerville and Josh White, 25, of Greenville were traveling north shortly after 10 a.m. when Viney lost control of his Pontiac Aztec and collided with a pickup driven by Kenneth Bearce, 80, of Dover-Foxcroft, Dover-Foxcroft police Officer Todd Lyford said.

The accident occurred near the Garland town line, Lyford said. Bearce was traveling south.
Viney and White were declared dead at the scene. Bearce suffered injuries not considered life-threatening and was transported to Mayo Regional Hospital, Lyford said.
While speed doesn’t appear to be a factor in the accident, the roads were slushy and icy from the aftermath of a snowstorm that dumped up to a foot of snow on some communities.
In addition to the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department, Lt. Jamie Kane – an accident reconstruction specialist – and Chief Deputy Bob Young, both of the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department, assisted in the investigation.
