sp-codymug-dcX-po-46    WORCESTER, Mass. — Dover-Foxcroft resident Rachel Cody was one of 37 Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) student-athletes to receive New England Men’s and Women’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference recognition for the fall season.

Cody, who was a junior back on the Engineers’ field hockey team, was joined by seven teammates in receiving the All-Academic accolade. Cody was presented with the honor for the second time in her collegiate athletic career. Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or 4.35 on a 5.0 scale after the 2014 spring semester, achieved second-year academic status at their institution and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
A 2012 graduate of Foxcroft Academy, Cody played in 15 games for WPI in 2014. The Engineers finished with an overall record of 11-7, going 3-5 in NEWMAC play. The field hockey team qualified for the postseason for the first time since 2011, falling at No. 3 Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 1-0, in the quarterfinal round.
