BENEFIT SUPPER — A group of friends and relatives are preparing for a benefit dinner for cancer patient Scott Wintle of Dexter, right. Pictured, from left, are his children Paige, 18, and Cole, 15.

Wintle was recently diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatments at EMMC Cancer Care Center, according to his mother, Sue Hill. “He’s unable to work and is currently uninsured,” said Hill.
Wintle was described as the type of person “sick or not, who would be right there to help with whatever you asked of him,” Hill added. One of his most recent projects was helping with construction of the Dexter Community Playground last summer.
Many local businesses have contributed items for a raffle with the grand prize of a Mitsubishi heat pump from Dave’s World in Dover-Foxcroft. The pump and installation are valued at $3,300.
Second prize is 10 gallons of interior or exterior paint from Tillson’s True Value Hardware in Dexter, and third prize is a family photo session from Simply Photo in Dexter.
All funds raised will go directly to Wintle to help pay for medical expenses, transportation and living expenses.
Admission to the Nov. 22 benefit spaghetti supper is by donation and more information is available by contacting Hill at 227-5707, Beth Wintle at 270-0034 or Teri Poulin at 270-1151.
