Robin Williams Movie Day
DOVER-FOXCROFT — On Sept. 6 the Center Theatre is proud to present two well-known films starring late actor and comedian Robin Williams. As a special tribute to the iconic performer, “Robin Williams Movie Day” will include showings of “Hook” (1991) and “Dead Poets Society” (1989).
“After Williams’ passing, a number of our volunteers and patrons told us how much they loved his films, and of all the profound ways that his performances affected their lives,” says Executive Director Angela Bonacasa. “Whether it was his early work on “Mork and Mindy”, his work as the voice of the Genie in Disney’s “Aladdin” or even his earliest standup comedy, his work connected with people of all ages. We felt that honoring his memory with two of his most popular works would be a great way to kick off the fall season here at the theatre.”
Both films are showing on Sept. 6 only, with “Hook” at 2 p.m. and “Dead Poets Society” at 7 p.m. Admission is by donation. A full list of upcoming films and live performances is available at www.centertheatre.org. The Center Theatre is a non-profit performing arts center dedicated to making the arts a part of life in the Maine Highlands.
