A Ryder truck swerved to avoid a car ahead that stopped suddenly and ended up going into a telephone pole. The driver was not hurt but traffic had to be detoured by members of the Dover-Foxcroft police and fire departments in both directions for several hours while crews from Central Maine Power cleaned up the scene.
