Eagles add two more to the win column

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The SeDoMoCha Middle School Eagles picked up two more wins over the past week. On May 20 the undefeated Lakers from Greenville came to the Morton Avenue field to face the undefeated Eagles.
SeDoMoCha’s Jenna Clukey continued to pitch strong in a complete game. She allowed one run over seven innings, gave up two hits, walked four and struck out 10. Pitching well  for the Lakers was Lily Pelletier, going a complete game and striking out nine.  Pelletier kept the red hot bats of the Eagles at bay, giving up only six runs — a season low for the Eagles.

SEAVEY’S ON FIRST — Cailin Seavey played at first base for SeDoMoCha during the match-up with Greenville Middle School on May 20. Seavey made four unassisted outs at first during the 6-1 win over the Lakers.

Starters in the infield for the Eagles were Kiara Prescott catching, Cailin Seavey on first, Mariah Poulin on second, Mackenzie Beaudry at short and McKenna Higgins on third. Starting in the outfield were Hannah Sprecher, Jordan Campbell and Hayley Grant.  Lexi London came in for Higgins on third in the sixth inning. Getting some time in the outfield for the Eagles was Bre Jazowski who came in for Grant. Olivia Wesley’s services were needed as a pitch runner.
For the first time all season the bats of the Eagles were a little cool, with Clukey and Campbell the only Eagles with two hits. The defense for the Eagles was lead by some great defensive play by Seavey at first base.
Later in the week the Eagles traveled to Guilford to play PCMS. Again Clukey pitched well, only allowing one run through five innings striking out 10 with one walk.
Head coach Chris Wesley only changed his starting infield slightly with Mariah Poulin starting at second and Hannah Sprecher at third. Adjustments in the outfield sent Cassidy Marsh to right and Lexi London to left. By the fifth inning Wesley got all the Eagles into the game. Beaudry took over the pitching circle in the sixth and pitched two scoreless innings, striking out four of the six batters she faced.
Leading the offensive charge against the Pirates were Prescott, Beaudry and Clukey with each getting on base seven times. Prescott and Beaudry scored each time.
On May 27 the Eagles were scheduled to host Penquis Valley Middle School at the Morton Avenue field and then the Eagles will make a trip to Greenville on Saturday, May 31 to face the Lakers in the last game of the regular season.
