Volunteers needed for town’s Clean-Up Day

GUILFORD — The first-ever Guilford Pride Community Clean-Up Day is set for Saturday, May 10 as volunteers are needed to rid the streets, sidewalks and grassy areas from the ravages of Old Man Winter.
Town Manager Tom Goulette said that the public works department will put a dump truck at collection points and several businesses are chipping in with supplies and donations.

“Goulette’s IGA will donate rubber gloves and bottled water, trash bags are being donated by New Balance and the Red Maple Inn will have a free barbecue for all participants around noon,” Goulette said.
The clean-up is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. until noon.
Some residents and community groups have already “adopted” some streets in town, but there is plenty of opportunity for others to pitch in. A Guilford Maine Community Pride Clean-Up Day page has been set up on Facebook.
For more information, visit the town office or contact Julie Porter-Chase at 876-1000.
