She will be one of 27 CTE students honored at a dinner and ceremony at the Lewiston Culinary Arts Center on May 3. This statewide recognition is sponsored by the Maine Administrators of Career and Technical Education (MACTE). Other CTE students and their families from schools across Maine join her at the event.
Charles plans to pursue a career in the field of building construction and to attend Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor in the fall. Her goal is to obtain an Associate’s Degree.
While at TCTC, Charles completed over 30 hours of community service work outside of school and has been appointed as a foreman in her building trades program on her Tech 2 day. As a non-traditional student (female) in the building trades program, she has earned the respect of fellow students, her instructors, and administrators. Charles has had perfect attendance for the past seven quarters at TCTC.
