Foxcroft and SeDoMoCha MS teams compete at New England wrestling championships

    PORTLAND — On Saturday, April 5 the Foxcroft youth wrestling and SeDoMoCha Middle School wrestling teams traveled to Portland to compete in the annual New England Wrestling Championships held at the Cumberland Civic Center. Over 1,200 wrestlers from 86 different teams from all six New England states competed at this event.

FOURTH IN NEW ENGLAND — SeDoMoCha Middle School eighth-grader RJ Nelson came in fourth at the New England Wrestling Championship on April 5 at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland. Wrestlers from both the school and Foxcroft youth team were among over 1,200 grapplers from all six New England states taking part.

    The tournament concluded a successful season for both teams. Congratulations to the following Foxcroft youth wrestlers on placing at the prestigious event: Griffin Caruso and Gage Beaudry both finished as New England runners-up; in third place was Noah Cavanagh; and in fourth place was Jack Caruso and Garret Chase. For SeDoMoCha Middle School, Esau Olson finished as a New England runner-up in his weight class, and in fourth place was RJ Nelson.

    “This is a great accomplishment for our wrestlers,” said head coach Luis Ayala. “To come here and place at this very competitive tournament says a lot about these individuals. They worked hard to get to this point. This tournament is a great experience for our wrestlers, to test their skills with the best in New England.”
