FairPoint expands broadband
DOVER-FOXCROFT — More Mainers quickly email photos, download music, participate in e-learning and video conferencing now that FairPoint Communications has expanded broadband service to 89 homes and businesses in the town of Dover-Foxcroft. High-speed connection areas include portions of the following roads/streets: Ames, Atkinson, Bangor, Bryant, Norton Hill, Ridge View, Sias Hill and Turner.
Since April 2008, FairPoint has invested more than $700 million in its communications infrastructure and technology to reach new customers, upgrade its network and expand broadband in northern New England, including building thousands of miles of new fiber across the region, offering customers a better, faster way to communicate.
“Broadband access opens doors to the world for the residents and businesses in Maine and is fundamental to the state’s future economic growth,” said Mike Reed, FairPoint’s Maine state president. “Our employees are working every day to build more broadband across the state. We are pleased to announce the availability of high-speed Internet for these residents in Dover-Foxcroft.”
