Three Ponies recognized at Husson athletic All-Academic banquet

    BANGOR — A trio of Foxcroft Academy graduates, all residents of Dover-Foxcroft, were honored as being a part of the 2013-14 Athletic Department All-Academic Team at Husson University.
    Earning the distinction were senior Mariah Arno, an occupational therapy major, and sophomore Hilary Kendall, who is majoring in nursing, of the Husson field hockey team and junior Ryan Stroud, a nursing major and member of the Eagle football squad.

    Arno, Kendall and Stroud were among the 73 student-athletes honored in a banquet held at the Hilton Garden Inn on Feb. 16. To be recognized for the Athletic Department Academic Team a student-athlete must be in sophomore, junior or senior standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better.
    Families of student-athletes as well as members of the university faculty and administration were in attendance. “Once again the academic banquet produced an array of our department’s best and brightest student-athletes,” said Deputy Athletic Director and Academic Liaison to the University Jeff Gettler, “The banquet continues to present us with an opportunity to showcase and honor a special group of student-athletes for all their hard work and academic success.”
