Death ruled to be from natural causes

GARLAND — The State Medical Examiner’s Office says a Dover-Foxcroft man found dead in a Garland home March 5 died from natural causes. At 1:40 p.m. state troopers responded to 142 Campbell Road and found the body of 62-year-old Daniel R. Neal.

Initial reports speculated Neal may have been killed by one of two adult dogs inside the house, where there was also a litter of seven puppies, but on March 6 the medical examiner’s office ruled the death was due to natural causes. The home is occupied by Neal’s daughter and Neal had stayed at the house the night before. The body was found by family members when they returned home.
