Time to give back? Consider becoming a Pine Tree Hospice volunteer

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Do you have some spare time? Are you looking for a way to give back to your community?
Pine Tree Hospice will offer a series of volunteer trainings this spring. These trainings will provide the knowledge and skills to equip you to help people in our community who are coping with a life-limiting, progressive illness.

Trainings are arranged into three segments. The first segment, called Core Training, provides the foundation for both direct care and bereavement work. Once volunteers complete this 11-hour segment, they can choose to take the 9-hour Direct Care Hospice Volunteer segment, or the 14-hour Bereavement Facilitator segment, or both.
All prospective volunteers must take the “Core Training” segment, scheduled for Friday, March 14, 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, March 15, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Those who are interested in becoming a Direct Care Hospice Volunteer will continue with the next segment on Friday, March 21, 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, March 22, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
The dates and times for the Bereavement Facilitator segment will be announced at the Core Training.
To discuss volunteer options or to register for the Pine Tree Hospice volunteer trainings, call 564-4346 or email wecare@pinetreehospice.org.
