WOW Conference returns to Piscataquis County

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — Growing the Communicator Within, The Elements of Successful Professional Interactions will be the focus of the Women of Worth (WOW) Conference brought to the area this year by the Resource Exchange, a community coalition of social service agencies, businesses and community members.

    The one-day conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 at Foxcroft Academy. Held on Administrative Professional’s Day annually, this years’ event is designed to honor, entertain, educate and inspire women of all ages.
    Shannon Kinney, founder and client success officer of Dream Local Digital will be this year’s keynote speaker. Kinney has 15 years’ experience helping businesses develop successful internet brands, such as cars.com, careerbuilder.com and over 60 online media properties for newspapers all over the U.S. and Canada. She was recently named one of the Women to Watch in 2013 by Maine Biz Magazine. In addition to her keynote address, she will be offering a workshop on using social media for work and advancement.
    Other workshops will cover upgrading your customer service skills, dealing with difficult people, communicating self-worth and establishing credibility, and making your network work for you and more. The conference cost and includes a breakfast bar, lunch and a dessert buffet.
