Vienneau appointed Mayo Regional Hospital CEO

NE-MayoCEO-DCX-PO-48    DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Mayo Regional Hospital Board of Directors (Hospital Administrative District 4) has hired Marie Vienneau as chief executive officer of Mayo Regional Hospital.
Vienneau is a Maine native who began her career in health care as an operating room RN at Brigham & Women’s hospital in Boston.

Since then, she has served for 23 years in executive roles at Millinocket Regional Hospital, most recently as CEO and chief nursing officer for the past 11 years. She earned her bachelor of science degree at the University of Maine and is a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.
“We are pleased to welcome Marie,” said George Barton, board chair of Mayo Regional Hospital.  “She shares the board’s vision to ensure accessible, full service health care for every resident in our service area and is a seasoned healthcare executive. Having lived and worked in the area, she understands the health care needs in Piscataquis County and is personally committed to delivering quality, patient centered health care at Mayo.”
“As an area resident, I view my role at Mayo Regional Hospital as a tremendous opportunity to serve the people of a familiar community,” said Vienneau. “My professional background entails leading hospital services that are patient, physician, and employee-friendly as well as operationally efficient.  I plan to bring this skill set to build a culture of excellence at Mayo Hospital — putting patients first, creating an atmosphere of compassion, teamwork, integrity, accountability, and respect among the hospital’s staff and physicians.”
Vienneau has also held several key leadership positions in health care in Maine and nationally. She has served as chairman of the board of the Maine Hospital Association, and was the delegate from small and rural hospitals to the regional policy board of the American Hospital Association.
She is a past member of the Katahdin Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, a past president and current member of the Katahdin Area Rotary Club and a member of the Millinocket Area Growth and Investment Council.  In addition, a national healthcare publication — Modern Healthcare — recognized her for health care leadership.
Mayo Regional Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital with a full complement of inpatient and emergency services. The hospital has a network of clinics strategically located throughout the region to serve the communities and surrounding rural areas.
