Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Club honors Clukey
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Club presented Town Manager Jack Clukey with its Distinguished Service Award at the club’s Nov. 5 meeting.
Clukey, who was also the Kiwanis guest speaker at its weekly meeting, updated the club on the progress of the Riverfront Redevelopment project at the former Moosehead Mill.
Clukey said that the project is on target and that several business have committed to leasing office space in the former mill. He also said that the building is scheduled to officially open in 2014.
At the end of his talk, Clukey was surprised when Kiwanis President Bob Moore presented him with the club’s 2013 Distinguished Service Award. Moore said that the award was for Clukey’s leadership on the Riverfront Redevelopment project as well as this year’s successful Piscataquis Heritage Hot Air Balloon Festival.
The success of these projects has been the result of a partnership between local government, private business and nonprofit organizations, said Moore.
