    AN ARMY OF PURPLE — Hundreds of walkers get ready to depart from the athletic fields in Guilford during Womancare’s 17th annual Race to End Domestic Abuse on the afternoon of Oct. 6. The event features both a 5K walk and run, as well as vendors, farmer’s market, a cookout, DJ spinning tunes and more. The festivities make up the biggest single fundraiser for Womancare, a community-based organization working to end domestic violence.
