Foxcroft football improves to 4-0 with 50-0 victory at Camden Hills
ROCKPORT — The Foxcroft Academy football team jumped out to a 44-0 halftime lead before emptying the bench and
coasting to a 50-0 victory over the Camden Hills Windjammers on the road on Sept. 28. Twenty one players recorded at least one tackle and 10 notched at least a yard from scrimmage as the Ponies sit at 4-0 at the halfway mark of Big Ten Conference regular season play.
Hunter Law completed six of eight passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns while adding 29 yards and a score on four carries. Pete Boyer had 115 yards and two rushing touchdowns on just nine carries and Hunter Smith finished with five catches for 99 yards and a score. Corey Bjornson (six carries for 37 yards), Billy Brock (six carries for 26 yards) and Gaige Pleninger (one catch for 23 yards and two carries for 13 yards) also found the end zone for the Ponies, who racked up 389 yards from scrimmage on 48 total plays. Isaiah Kennel (seven carries for 26 yards) and Evan Chadbourne (three carries for 17 yards) also chipped in for the Ponies’ backfield, which finished with 267 yards on 41 carries.
Foxcroft’s dominant defensive unit forced two turnovers and limited the Windjammers to 121 yards on 46 plays from scrimmage. Bjornson had seven tackles and an interception, Kolby Kendall had six tackles and a sack, Law had a pick and two tackles and Boyer added seven tackles. Other players recording at least one tackle for the Ponies were Pleninger (six), Smith (five), Corbyn Bruce (five), Caleb Edgerly (three), Billy Brock (three), Clay Carroll (three), Brandon Brock (two), Brandon Dyer (two), Kaleb Faloon (two), James Smith (two), Sean Cody (two), Nick Dyer, Kennel, Liam Riehl, Troy Pearl, Craig Chambers and Trevor Tash.
Next up for the Ponies is a matchup with unbeaten Waterville High School (4-0) at Oakes Field on Friday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.
