Forgues named chief financial officer at Mayo

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Daniel D. Forgues of Auburn has accepted the position of chief financial officer at Mayo Regional Hospital, and will start his new duties on Aug. 12.
Forgues will be coming to Mayo from Goodall Hospital in Sanford where he has served as CFO since 2011. He has been working as a health care finance professional in Maine since 1987.

“Dan has a track record of success in both large and small hospitals,” said Edward J. Hannon, Mayo’s president and chief executive officer. “We all look forward to welcoming Dan and his wife, Donna, when they arrive in our area in the near future.”
Hannon praised Mayo’s controller, Jim Fowle, who volunteered to work as the hospital’s interim CFO, leading the fiscal year 2014 budget process and overseeing all financial operations until Forgues’ arrival.
Forgues replaces Jeffrey Provenzano, who relocated to his home state of Michigan in June, after serving as Mayo’s CFO since 2009.
Forgues completed an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine, Orono, and earned his M.B.A. from New Hampshire College.
He started his health care finance career in 1987 at Central Maine Healthcare in Lewiston, where he worked for eight years as accounting manager and corporate controller. Forgues was CFO at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield from 1995-99, and then moved on to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was director of financial planning for 11 years.
Forgues is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
