MAKING ROOM FOR WHOOPIE PIES — A record field of approximately 70 runners and walkers took part in the Piscataquis Regional YMCA’s annual Earn Your Whoopie Pie 3K to start the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival on June 22 in downtown Dover-Foxcroft. Dylan Merchant won the race in 9 minutes, 40 seconds to set a course record. Finishing in second place was Cooper Nelson and the women’s winner was Carrie Pike in 11:51.
