June 27 dinner to benefit the Arno family

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Club, along with the generosity of business merchants of the area, is organizing a benefit pasta dinner and raffle in memory of Dacano Arno, to be held on Thursday, June 27 at Foxcroft Academy from 4–8 p.m.

Dacano, a 17-year-old Foxcroft Academy student, and much loved resident of Dover-Foxcroft, lost his life on June 3 while swimming and rescuing a friend who got caught in the swift currents of the Sebec River. The community and friends far and wide have been grief stricken by this tragic accident and have pulled together in many efforts to comfort each other and the family. This pasta dinner/raffle fundraiser, which will also feature music as well as the raffle throughout the event, is just another effort of community and groups coming together in support of the Arno family who have worked tirelessly over the years in volunteer work and who mean so much to our town.
Area and corporate businesses have been extremely generous in their efforts to support this family through many exciting prizes for the event.  The dinner will be by donation and raffle tickets are available at the door. Proceeds raised will go for the benefit of the Arno family.
If you are unable to attend and would like to make a donation, you may contribute by mail to Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Charities, Benefit of Dacano Arno Family, P O Box 615, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine.
For further information, you may contact Barbara Moore at 717-3338 or Will Wedge at Will’s Shop and Save (564-3246), both members of the Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Club.
