    DOVER-FOXCROFT — Ten members of the Piscataquis County Retired Educators Association met recently at the Bear’s Den for a luncheon meeting. In the absence of a president and vice president, Secretary Gloria Burns led the meeting and read the secretary’s report. Myrna Ricker gave the treasurer’s report.

    Election of officers was tabled. The Day of Caring was discussed and Linda Howard suggested they work with the Grange on this year’s project. MEA-R will donate $100 to the project. Members voted to increase the Ethel Pennington Retired Teachers Scholarship to $400.
    Members were asked to think of a project to raise money for the scholarship. Volunteer hours sheets were prepared by Past President Minnie McCormick and given to each member.
    The snowbirds that spent time in Florida  reported on their activities. The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be Tuesday, June 25 at the Bear’s Den at 11:30 a.m.
