TWO DOWN, ONE TO GO — Leading after the first two legs of the Pine Tree Hospice Triple Crown Golf Tournament are, from left, Dave Porter, Kirt Stockley, Scott Dewitt and Corey Campbell.

    Sixty-three golfers competed in leg two of the Triple Crown event, which has now raised an impressive total of $6,814 (including sponsorships) for Pine Tree Hospice, a non-profit organization that has relied upon philanthropy and volunteerism to provide vital services free of charge to the community for more than 25 years.
    Golfers who have not had an opportunity to play in the first two rounds of the tournament are more than welcome to participate in the final leg at Foxcroft on Sunday (June 2), with foursomes teeing off at either 8 a.m. or 1 p.m.
    Donna Kousaie, George Kousaie, Matt Spooner and Kathleen Thibault captured the lowest net score (handicaps factored in) at Dexter with a 49 while Mary Morancie, Dale Wright, Ed Walker and Herb Tenney took second with a 52. Winners of the closest-to-the-pin contests on holes 4, 8, 13 and 17 were Sean Farnsworth, Paul Farnsworth, George Kousaie and Kirt Stockley. Danny White ripped the longest male drive, and Peggy Glover claimed that honor amongst female players. Deuce Carlton and Carol Kilpatrick won the straight drive competition. Megan Spooner won the 50/50 golf ball toss and graciously donated her winnings to Pine Tree Hospice.
    Ethan Annis, White, Scott McKusick and Mark Chevalier shot a 59 on the heels of their 62 at Whitetail to remain in contention for the Triple Crown grand prize. The overall leader board through two legs of the tournament is as follows:
    1) Corey Campbell, Kirt Stockley, Scott Dewitt, and Dave Porter: 60 + 57 = 117 (-23);
    2) Ethan Annis, Danny White, Scott McKusick, and Mark Chevalier: 62 + 59 = 121 (-19);
    3) Jim Costedio, Shane Baxter, Andy Bandola, and Rick Sherburne: 60 + 63 = 123 (-17);
    4) Ashley Jackins, Wayne Strout, Fred Andrews, and Dana Fadley: 61 + 64 = 125 (-15);
    5) Jack Sincyr, Joanne Sincyr, Lindy Warren, and Carl Brackett: 64 + 68 = 132 (-8).
