Local high school track and field results

    The Foxcroft Academy boys track and field squad finished in first place during a May 3 home meet. The Ponies picked up 184 points to finish first out of eight schools, with 42 more than runner-up Central.

    Don Boyer swept the hurdles and also recorded a first-place performance in the long jump. Boyer won the 110 hurdles in 15.09 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 41.82 seconds. His top distance in the long jump was 19 feet, 1.5 inches. Boyer also anchored the second-place 4×100 relay team, joining Jacob LaBree, Cody Levensalor and Wesley Stinson for time of 46.95 seconds.
    Ryan Wang swept the individual sprints for Foxcroft. Wang won the 100 in 11.55 seconds, the 200 in 23.88 seconds and 400 in 52.35 seconds. He ran the final leg of the 4×400 relay team that finished in second place, joining LaBree, Justin Diamond and Peter Boyer for a time of 3:51.87.
    Peter Boyer had another individual victory for Foxcroft as he won the javelin at 157-04. He finished in second in the discus at 107-07, and fifth in the shot put at 38-07.
    The Ponies ended up placing first through fifth in the shot. Cody Levensalor won at 45-04, followed by Corey Bjornson at 43-04, Louis LaFache at 40-05, Caleb Atkinson at 40-04 and then Boyer.
    Other second-place performances included the 8×800 relay (Cooper Nelson, Paul Birtwistle, Julian Zepeda and James Smith) at 10:00.12; LaBree in the 100 at 11.77 seconds; Nelson in the 3,200 at 12:17.26; and Jeremiah McLeod in the high jump at 5-04. LaBree also placed third in the 200 at 24.32 seconds.
    In fourth place was Bjornson in the 100 at 12 seconds, Nelson in the 1,600 at 5:05.81 and LaFache in the discus at 106-05. Fifth-place performances were Diamond in the 100 at 12.14 seconds and pole vault at 7-06, Birtwistle in the 3,200 at 13:36.86 and Levensalor in the discus at 104-11.
    Rounding out the Pony point scoring was Nelson and Bjornson who were sixth in the 1,600 racewalk and discus respectively at 11:11.21 and 98-11.
    The Greenville boys tied Carrabec for fourth place at the Dover-Foxcroft meet with 29 points apiece. Cody Watson had the second fastest times of the day in both the 200 and 400 at 24.32 and 53.70 seconds. In the 200 Tristan Richards was close behind as he came in fourth with a time of 25.11 seconds. Evan Sullivan added a fourth-place performance in the  javelin at 140-08.
    The Lakers also had points from Corey Henderson, who was fifth in the 800 at 2:20.95 and sixth in the 1,600 at 5:22.83. Henry Hersey came in sixth in the 100 at 12.21 seconds and sixth in the triple jump at 35-00.50.
    The boys from Dexter were sixth on May 3 with a score of 28 points. Richard Ryckmen won the racewalk with a time of 8:17.24. He also came in sixth in the 3,200 at 14:25.51.
    Michael Poulin was second in the javelin at 144-06, and he also anchored the fifth-place 4×100 relay squad. Joining him was Matthew Bartlett, Concalo Maurato and Seth Blais for a time of 50.03 seconds. Blais finished fifth in the 400 at 57.01 seconds.
    In high jump Dexter had third- and sixth-place performances as jumps separated Conrad Tarr and Zack Caron — and two others — at a height of 5-00.
    Ben Maines of PCHS accounted for all 12 of his team’s points, which put the Pirates in seventh place. Maines was third in both hurdle events, running a time of 16.93 seconds at 110 meters and 44.62 seconds for 300 meters.
    In the girls’ meet at Foxcroft Academy, PCHS tallied 58.33 points to place third out of seven schools. Lucinda Wingert won the high jump at 4-08, while Brianna Worster also cleared 4-08. The Pirates had fourth- and sixth-place finishes in the event with Olivia Dow jumping 4-04 and Paige Northup 4-02.
    In second place was Miriah Pettit in the 100 at 13.54 seconds and 200 at 28.15 seconds, while Shawna Burgess was the meet runner-up in the javelin at 85-02. Tiia Kand finished third in the 100 hurdles at 20.80 seconds.
    The PCHS 4×100 relay came in fourth with a time of 57.55 seconds. The team was comprised of Pettit, Mariah Priest, Mikayla Dow and Wingert. Catherine Williams’ throw of 79-09 in the javelin was good for fifth place.
    The host Foxcroft girls finished in fourth place with a score of 54.33 points. Fern Morrison was the winner in the 300 hurdles at 51.91 seconds and she came in second in the 400 at 1:04.41. Morrison placed third in the 100 at 13.73 seconds and ran the last leg of the third-place 4×100 relay. Joining her was Holly Fortier, Abigail McLeod and Angie Chen for a time of 56.99 seconds.
    Mia Smith cleared a height of 6-06 to win the pole vault for Foxcroft. Smith also finished sixth in the long jump at 12-04.75.
    Liza Gregoryeva came in third in the 1,600 with a time of 6:30.30. Abigail McLeod was third in the high jump at 4-04, and Fortier tied for sixth in the event at 4-02. Angie Chen finished sixth in the 200 at 29.85 seconds.
    Greenville came in fifth in the girls’ competition with 37.33 points. The Lakers had a pair of first-place throws as Brooke Noyes won the javelin at 86-11 and Andrea Burney the discus at 88-08. Tricia Sherman was the meet’s runner-up in the shot put at 31-01.
    In fourth place was Marta Lopez in the racewalk at 11:47.85 and Erin Welsh in the javelin at 81-10. Noyes came in sixth in the 800 at 3:08.34 and as did the Greenville 4×100 — comprised of Noyes, Gurney, Leah Bilodeau and Welsh — at 1:00.26. Peyton Ward tied for sixth in the high jump at 4-02.
    The girls from Dexter picked up 28 points at Foxcrot Academy to finish seventh. Meredith Roderka was the winner in the 1,600 with a time of 5:59.29. She also was the runner-up in the 800 at 2:42.90, and ran the second leg of the fifth-place 4×100 relay. Katie Barton, Roderka, Shayna Fogg and Alison Pease finished in 57.72 seconds.
    Fogg was fourth in the 400 at 1:11.82, while Pease had a pair of fifth-place sprints. Pease finished the 100 in 14.01 seconds and the 200 in 29.07 seconds.
    Penquis Valley’s boys track team competed on May 3 at Cameron Stadium in Bangor and tallied nine points to finish fifth. George Cowing finished third in the 400 at 57.35 seconds and he was fifth in the long jump at 19-02.25. Cowing followed Thomas Diaz and handed off to Michael Vachon and Cody Herbest on the sixth-place 4×400 relay team that had a time of 4:02.31.
    The Penquis 4×100 placed fourth with a time of 50.56 seconds, and was made up of Christopher Ormonde, Cevonte Johnson, Michael Vachon and Clayton Tarnoczy.
    In the girls’ meet at Bangor, Penquis tied Mattanawcook for fourth place as each school tallied six points. Courtney Bowers came in the third in the high jump at 4-06, while Jessica Preble was fourth in the 400 at 1:07.50.
