Compassionate communication will be topic of panel discussion
DOVER-FOXCROFT — A panel discussion focused on compassionate communication is being held at the Mayo Hospital Resource Center on Thursday, May 16 from 6-8 p.m. This panel discussion is open to all community members who are interested in learning how to better communicate and support those with serious illness, bereavement, or other traumatic life events.
Pine Tree Hospice is providing this program, in collaboration with Eastern Area Agency on Aging and with funding from the United Way of Eastern Maine. Dessert refreshments will be provided.
With compassionate communication being the focus, this program will discuss how to support a friend or family member who is seriously ill or dying when the natural human reaction is to feel awkward and upset. The panel discussion will answer the question, “what do I say when those I care about are faced with difficult life events?”
