More online accolades for the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — On the heels of being voted as winner of the 2013 About.com New England Travel Readers’ Choice Award for Best New England Festival or Event, the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival has announced another feather in their cap. The festival was selected as one of the top events in the state of Maine by AmericaTheBeautiful.com.

AmericaTheBeautiful.com is the U.S.’ destination marketing agency and is a destination site for travelers from the U.S. and abroad planning trips and vacations.
    In their announcement, they said of the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival, “Out of the hundreds of events that happen each year across your state – we have selected yours as one of the TOP Events that represent your state very well.”
    Patrick Myers, organizer of the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival states that he said a loud “Whoopie” when he got the news. “It’s always exciting to hear that the Festival is appreciated by so many people,” Myers said. “We all know it’s the sweetest day in Maine and are thrilled when others help to spread the good word.”
    The Maine Whoopie Pie Festival is on Saturday, June 22 and will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Dover-Foxcroft. Festivities begin before the official opening of the festival with the Piscataquis Regional YMCA’s Earn Your Whoopie Pie 3K Fun Run and Kids 1K. This year, along with crafters, vendors, kids games and attractions and thousands of whoopie pies the festival will feature live music throughout the day.
