Smith receives MIAAA ‘Special Achievement Award’

lo-timsmith-dcX-po-18    DOVER-FOXCROFT —  Congratulations to Foxcroft Academy Assistant Head of School and Athletic Director Tim Smith, who recently received the 2013 Maine Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (MIAAA) “Special Achievement Award”, which is given to one athletic director in each conference in Maine each year. Smith was unanimously selected by the other ADs in the Penobscot Valley Conference.

Smith became the athletic director at Foxcroft Academy in 2003 and has overseen nine state championships and 20 Eastern Maine titles in his 10-year tenure. “Tim is well-deserving of this honor and more,” said Foxcroft Academy Head of School Arnold Shorey. “People need to remember that all the successes of our athletic teams are largely due to his continuous efforts behind the scenes supporting the student athletes and coaches. He works tirelessly for Foxcroft Academy and we are fortunate to have him as our Assistant Head of School.”
The MIAAA Special Achievement Award was established in 1987 in order to recognize MIAAA members who make significant contributions to league, school, or conference interscholastic athletics.
