Dover-Foxcroft

Senior Network session will provide information on scams and frauds

DOVER-FOXCROFT — A special presentation will be held at Senior Network on Thursday, April 25 when Dover-Foxcroft Police Chief Dennis Dyer and postal officials come to speak with participants about “Scams and Frauds.”

This topic is of particular interest to seniors in light of the recent events including the “Jamaican Lottery” scam and one recent scam in Central Maine related to senior emergency care services. Chief Dyer and others will talk with seniors about how best to protect yourselves and how and where to get help if you think you are being scammed. This practice is becoming more and more prevalent so please come to learn how to protect yourself and your resources from these scam artists.
This meeting will be held at the Morton Avenue Municipal Building in the Community Room from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays are potluck luncheons at the Senior Network, so please plan to arrive between 10:30-11 a.m. with a small dish to share with other participants. The luncheon will happen between 11:15 and 11:45 a.m. and our speakers will follow.
There is no charge for the Senior Network. For more information, please contact 564-8245 and talk with Sue.
