PCHS track season starts

    BREWER — The Piscataquis Community High School girls outdoor track and field team began the season on April 15 at Brewer by placing seventh out of 11 schools, with a score of 30 points.
    Senior Briana Worster won the high jump at a height of 4 feet, 8 inches. Sophomore Lucinda Wingert was right behind as she also cleared 4-08.

    Sophomore Miriah Pettit came in fourth in both the 100 and 200, at 14.29 and 29.54 seconds respectively. Pettit also anchored the 4×100 relay team that finished fourth at 58.97. Other members of the Pirate 4×100 relay squad were Wingert, freshman Mikayla Dow and sophomore Mariah Priest.
    The PCHS boys also finished seventh out of 11 teams on April 15. Senior Ben Maines accounted for all 18 of his team’s points as he won the 110 hurdles and came in second in the 300 hurdles. Maines’ winning time was 18.03 seconds, and he had a time of 45.12 seconds in the 300 hurdles.
