Crane is a Miss Maine Basketball semifinalist

    DEXTER — Dexter Regional High School senior Lauren Crane has been chosen as one of 10 semifinalists for the 2013 Miss Maine Basketball Award. The honor is presented annually to a senior boy and girl who has exhibited outstanding skills throughout his/her career, has made a significant impact on his/her team, has demonstrated respect for the game through leadership on and off the court, has epitomized the values of sportsmanship and has been a positive school and community citizen.

    On March 2, state championship Saturday, three semifinalists will be chosen and the winner will be announced on Friday, March 8 at the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches’ banquet at Husson University in Bangor.

    Players from across the state and all four classes are eligible for the Mr. and Miss Basketball Awards. Other girls semifinalists are Jordan Knowlton, Camden Hills; Josie Lee, Cony; Kristin Ross, Gorham; Sydney Hancock, Lake Region; Kristen Anderson, Leavitt; Jillian Woodward, Orono; Chandler Guerrette, Presque Isle; Martha Veroneau, Waynflete; and Emily Campbell, York.
