Local Window Dressers volunteers in the Dover-Foxcroft region are making appointments now to measure windows for cost-saving insulating window inserts. Window Dressers is a four-year old non-profit supporting barnraiser-like community builds in local communities in Maine, gathering neighbors to help neighbors build the inserts.

A potluck picnic is planned to start at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 29 and this is a rain or shine event.

The first will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 at the Parkman Town Office, 771 State Highway Route 150. 6 years ago July 27 Moosehead Lake cruise to benefit Holy Family Church building fund The second annual Mid-Summer Night’s Gala Dinner Dance will be on the evening of Friday, July 27 aboard the Steamship Katahdin. In March the Holy Family Church in Greenville dedicated its brand new church in March. With only 5 percent of the fundraising left, the parish is sponsoring a dinner/dance cruise aboard the Katahdin with all ticket proceeds going to the church building fund.

Using a large scale model, everyone will get to participate in “making rain” over a watershed and watch what happens in the course of the journey. There will be activities for all ages to help better understand what a watershed is.

6 years ago Piscataquis Regional Food Center seeks $50K USDA grant to get up and running In order to get started to fulfill its mission of helping end food insecurity and increase the vitality of the agricultural economy of Dover-Foxcroft and surrounding communities, the Piscataquis Regional Food Center (PRFC) is applying for $50,000 in federal funding through the 2018 USDA Rural Development Community Facilities grant program. As part of the application process, a public hearing was held during the selectmen’s meeting on June 18.
