7 years ago Run on a wild pitch gives Rowell’s Navigators an extra innings victory For the second time in as many home games during the young Junior American Legion season, the Rowell’s Navigators earned a walk-off victory. The victory during a June 28 contest vs. the Bangor Cadets was earned with the go-ahead run coming on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth.
7 years ago Martha Rollins, 98, presented with D-F’s Boston Post Cane In recognition of being the eldest resident of Dover-Foxcroft, Martha Rollins -- who turned 98 a week before the ceremony -- was presented with the Boston Post Cane by the town and Dover-Foxcroft Historical Society on June 27 at the Morton Avenue Municipal Building.

7 years ago $10.8M RSU 68 budget assessments set for four district towns A week after residents of the four RSU 68 communities approved a $10,817,189 budget for the 2017-18 academic year -- via a combined tally of 303 to 124 votes -- the school board took the next step and set the assessments for Charleston, Dover-Foxcroft, Monson and Sebec during a June 20 meeting at the SeDoMoCha School.
7 years ago $8.5M SAD 41 budget moved to June 29 referendum A proposed 2017-18 SAD 41 budget of $8,500,571 was approved with 13 of 14 articles passing over 40 minutes during the annual district budget meeting on June 19 in the cafeteria at the Penquis Valley School. The total is now moved to a referendum in the district towns of Atkinson, Brownville, LaGrange and Milo on Thursday, June 29.
7 years ago Rowell’s Navigators battle back for a walk-off victory Trailing 3-0 after the top of the fifth, the Rowell’s Navigators came back to tie the team’s home opener against the Hampden Riverjacks during a matinee Junior American Legion contest on June 18 at Foxcroft Academy. The Navigators (who improved to 2-0) then walked off with a 4-3 victory on a squeeze bunt by Luke Stedman to drive in Doug Kane.
