Hibbard Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center honors its volunteers

    DOVER-FOXCROFT — National Volunteer Week was April 21-27. Hibbard Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center hosted a Volunteer Luncheon on April 17. Guests were welcomed by Administrator Jane Hibbard-Merrill. Staff members present to serve the meal were Tracy Kasparzak, director of nursing; Wendy Pullen, assistant director of nursing; Aaron Thomas and Kristen Sutherland, social service staff; and activity staff members Elaine Lewenczuk, Brenda Townsend, Patti Pearce and Loretta Hartin, along with Gail Merrill, dietary manager who prepared the meal of lasagna, Italian bread and side salad.

    GIVING THANKS — Renie Goulette, right pictured with Gloria Lutterell, was one of the volunteers at the Hibbard Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Dover-Foxcroft recognized during an April 17 luncheon.

    The top three volunteers who had donated the most time were presented with living houseplants in colorful pots. Renie Goulette volunteered 264 hours, Barbara Wilson, 77 hours and Dave Robinson 67 hours.
    Activity Coordinator Loretta Hartin read a speech thanking all the volunteers who gave numerous hours throughout the year assisting with a variety of projects from Sunday Socials to arts and crafts, to Saturday morning Bingo games.
    “We at Hibbard are so happy to have our volunteers. They make such a difference in the lives of our residents, from the musicians who give their time to entertain, and the ministers who give comfort, the people who assist with meal menus and those that just come to visit a resident and brighten their day.” Hibbard Nursing and Rehabilitation Center welcomes new volunteers, please call 564-8129 for more information.
