BANGOR — During the 2016 Susan B. Koman Race for the Cure on Sept. 18 Cooper Nelson, 18, of Dover-Foxcroft, finished second out of 213 along the five kilometer course. Nelson ran the 3.1 miles in 18 minutes, 5 seconds.
Six other runners from the region took part. Jillean Poliquin, 11, of Exeter, placed 24th at 24:43. Bob Clark, 65, of Dexter, was 36th at 25:57. Amber Benway, 17, of Monson, finished 47th at 27:21.
Marlene Stone, 39, of Exeter, came in 111th at 33:10. Jennifer LaChance, 47, of Harmony, placed 142nd at 36:48. Jennifer Cole, 23, of Dover-Foxcroft, was 166th at 41:41.
