PORCH PARTY GFWC/Miosac Club advisory committee members and Pat Jones recently hosted a preseason porch party at Jones’ home. Front, from left, are Minnie McCormick, Barb Austin and Anne Cress. Back, Pat Jones and Suzanne Raymond.

A birthday cake was presented to Dot Finnemore. Members enjoyed catching up on everyone’s summer events. The last club meeting was in July with a successful yard sale.

Following a delicious supper, Advisory Chairman Raymond distributed the new program books. The GFWC/Miosac Club will be having different programs this year along with the regular contributions. Cress showed a drawing of the new GFWC Maine pin that members can purchase. Some discussion of the Pine Tree Notes and attendance to fall conference in October followed — some members will be able to attend.

The first meeting will be Oct. 4 with the new officers officiating. The advisory committee will provide soups and dessert. Members are encouraged to bring a guest that might be interested in joining. Anyone interested can call any member for more information.
