Three Rivers Hamfest on Saturday

MILO — The Piscataquis Amateur Radio Club’s Three Rivers Hamfest will take place on Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Three Rivers Kiwanis Building, 24 Gerrish Road in the Eastern Piscataquis Business Park, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The Hamfest will include amateur radio license exams at 9 a.m. — with walk-ins welcome, breakfast, radio fox hunt at 11 a.m., lunch, live music from noon to 2 p.m. by Friends Four as well as Gary Knowles, the grand prize drawing at noon and raffle drawings throughout the day. The Harrigan Learning Center and Museum, located next door to the Three Rivers Kiwanis Building, will also be open on Aug. 6.

Scheduled to be at the Hamfest is the Maine Forest Service, Maine Warden Service, National Weather Service Skywarn, Milo and Brownville police and fire departments. Three Rivers Ambulance and Amateur Radio Emergency Service (the day is an American Radio Relay League affiliated event).
