Center Theatre 10th Anniversary Gala
Center Theatre holds anniversary celebrations
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The first weekend in August in 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the Center Theatre’s grand opening and the theatre invites the community to attend several events over the weekend.
“Our 10th anniversary is a huge milestone,” said Patrick Myers, the theatre’s executive director, “We are hoping that the people who have supported us over the past 10 years will join us at an event in the coming weeks.”
On Thursday, Aug. 4 at 6 p.m. the theatre is holding a 10th Anniversary Gala. The event begins at the Mill Event Center, with a catered dinner from Foxcroft Catering Company, live entertainment, the opportunity to contribute to a time capsule that will be on display in the theatre lobby and much more. Dinner will be followed by a stroll to the Center Theatre for a delicious dessert buffet provided by the renowned bakers of the East Sangerville Grange, and a VIP preview of the first half of the Center Theatre Encore show. Tickets to the Anniversary Gala are $40 each or $75 per couple.
The summer Encore show has it’s opening night on Friday, Aug. 5 and promises to be a wonderful trip down memory lane. “The theatre has put on so many great live shows over the past 10 years it would be impossible to please everyone, but we’ve put together a full show of songs and scenes from past shows that will please both young and old,” Myers said. Myers also stated that several local directors including Bobby Keniston, Mitchell Chasse and David Murry are putting together productions for the event.
The Encore show runs at 7 p.m. on Aug. 5 and 12 and 2 p.m. on Aug. 6, 7, 13 and 14. Tickets are $10 in advance; $8 for members and seniors; $5 for children 10 and under.
For those who are in the gift-giving mood, the theatre has also established an anniversary gift registry.“We created the registry so people could see what our needs are and find a way to support the theater that fits their budget,” Myers said. “There are a wide variety of items having to do with theater operations, performances and the facility. If people would like to visit the registry they can go to MyRegistry.com and search for the Center Theatre under Organization/Non-Profit, or go to the Center Theatre website.”
