“Today’s summer lunch kickoff went super well,” RSU 68 Food Service Director Kandi Hartford said about the July 1 event. “We had 105 children and 15 adults.”
Hartford said the first summer lunch of the season included a visit by the Darling’s ice cream truck, a school bus tour conducted by Rowell’s Garage, popsicle stick airplane crafts, celery flower painting, face painting, seed planting, apple puzzle, poster coloring and helpful handouts.
Hot dogs were on the menu for July 1, cooked by Dover-Foxcroft Police Chief Dennis Dyer and friends. “We also had corn on the cob, watermelon and milk,” Hartford said.
