UMFK nursing honors

FORT KENT — Three students from the region were recently inducted the Nursing Honor Society at the University of Maine-Fort Kent and another was honored during the Nurse Pinning Ceremony.

Society inductees include Deanna E. Genovese of Garland and Olivia C Bouchard and Michaella E. Gilbert of Greenville.

These students have excelled in the four-year B.S. in Nursing program and each was presented an honor cord to wear when they graduate and a membership certificate. Pupils with a GPA of 3.0 or above, are in the top 30 percent of their graduating class and who represent the attributes of scholarship as defined by and Sigma Theta Tau — the International Honor Society for Nursing — were eligible for induction.

Among the nursing pin recipients was Rebecca A. Knowlton of Greenville.

The nursing pin signifies the completion of the nursing degree and also symbolizes the honor and responsibility held as a professional nurse.
