BRUNSWICK — Over a half dozen residents of the region traveled south to take part in several Race for Runways competitions on April 23.

In the mile Peter Devine, 66 of Garland, ran a time of 7:15.3 to finish 23rd out a field of 55. Gary Larson, 71 of Dover-Foxcroft, was 34th in the mile at 8:26.6.

Larson’s day was not over as he also ran the 5K race in 27.53.1 to come in 91st out of 286 runners.

The 5K field included Laura Gourley, 47 of Abbot, 177th at 33:12.6; Roxanne Chadwick, 43 of Abbot, 213th at 36:23.2; Lynette Hanscome, 48 of Guilford, 253rd at 42:17.9; and Robyn Clark, 50 of Abbot, 268th at 47:41.7.

Brittany Paradis, 30 of Harmony, ran the half-marathon and her time of 2:02.11 placed her 146th out of a field of 340. Devine ran a second (much longer race) by finishing 212th at 2:09.09. Wendy McKenney, 50 of Parkman, placed 227th with a time of 2:12.23.
