2016 Minnie Welts Bridge Memorial Scholarship

PARKMAN — The Parkman Grange announces the immediate availability of application packages for 2016 Minnie Welts Bridge Memorial Scholarships. Packages may be picked up at the town office. Applicants must have graduated from high school and be currently enrolled (in good academic standing) in a legitimate institution of continuing education (community college, technical school or four-year college or university). The application deadline is Wednesday, June 15 — no exceptions. Awards will be announced at the memorial supper on Aug. 6.

Welts Bridge passed away at 102 on Aug. 14, 2011. She was a lifelong resident of Parkman. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in various Parkman schools for 29 years and a life member of Parkman Grange #305.

The Grange has established the Minnie Welts Bridge Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit deserving Parkman residents who have successfully completed at least one term of continuing education. The Grange hopes to annually award one or more $500 scholarships, funded through donations and the annual supper in Welts Bridge’s name.
