Dover-Foxcroft

Sunday maple breakfast returns

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Each year, the Dover-Foxcroft Shiretown Homecoming Committee hosts a maple breakfast during Maine Maple Weekend. Last year, for the first time, the event was moved to the gymnasium of Foxcroft Academy to accommodate the hundreds of men, women and children who attend the event.

Dozens of local businesses throughout the region sponsor this event, which is becoming more popular each year. It could be the fact that spring is around the corner, or that you’re guaranteed to be served with a smile, or that everyone is just plain happy to be there, not to mention the delicious variety of breakfast foods and the donated maple syrup from Bob’s Sugarhouse of Dover-Foxcroft. Whatever the reason, the crowds multiply each year and everyone leaves with a full belly and a wide smile.

Menu items include French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, homemade homefries and everyone’s favorite, pancakes smothered in Bob’s maple syrup. Beverage choices include coffee, tea, milk or juice.

Fox 22’s JR Mitchell will be there covering the event. The Homecoming Committee will also hold a 50/50 raffle.

All proceeds from the breakfast go toward future homecoming festivities. For more information, contact Will Wedge at 564-3246 or go Dover-Foxcroft Shiretown Homecoming Celebration Facebook page.

Maple Sunday Breakfast sponsors make this annual event unforgettable. The Shiretown Homecoming Committee extends sincere thanks to each sponsor and invites anyone within the region who would like to attend this breakfast to come with an appetite on April 3.

Foxcroft Academy is located at 975 West Main Street. in Dover-Foxcroft. The doors will be open from 7 to 10 a.m.
