Heather Wheaton, Penquis Autism Community Services Program division manager I, accepts a $2,000 check from representatives of Maine Masonic District No. 5 on March 17 at the organization’s Dover-Foxcroft office. The Masonic Charitable Foundation of the Grand Lodge of Masons in Maine gave $2,000 2016 Building Our Community Charitable Grants to a nonprofit in each of the state’s 24 districts, with the recipients based on nearly 65,000 votes cast in February from 25,000 citizens throughout Maine and beyond.

Wheaton said the donation will be used for safety gear training and other purposes. Pictured with Wheaton are, from left, District Education Representative Chris Reardon, District Deputy Grand Master Bill Pinkham, Mosaic #52(Dover-Foxcroft) Master Tom Boone and District Ritual Instructor Herb Libby.
