McLaughlin named to all-academic team

BANGOR — Husson University junior A.J. McLaughlin, a resident of Dexter and Dexter Regional High School graduate, was one of a team-record 16 Husson University football players named to the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference All-Academic Team this past season. McLaughlin, a sport management major, and his fellow Eagles were named by having a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
A tight end, McLaughlin played in seven games for Husson in 2015. The Eagles finished with an overall record of 7-3, qualifying for the ECAC Clayton Chapman Bowl Championship in New Britain, Conn. where the team was defeated, 42-39, by Salve Regina University of Rhode Island.
