PRYMCA Waves host Boothbay YMCA

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis Regional YMCA Waves swim team hosted the Boothbay Region YMCA Dolphins on Jan. 23,. The Waves team members swam very well and individual swimmers turned in very strong performances.

Waves swimmers turning in first-place finishes were Avery Carroll in the 200 IM and 100 back; Jenna Clukey in the 100 free; Garett Cooley in the 100 back; Gabie Johnson in the 50 free; Hunter Kemp in the 100 free and 50 breast; Nathaniel “Hal” Porter in the 50 back; Gwyneth Rhoda in the 25 back; Amy Waugh in the 200 IM and 100 back; Peyton Wellman in the 50 fly; Meriel Willey in the 100 free; and Jaxson Zimmerman in the 50 free and 25 back.

Preston Barbro, Leora Brochu, Cooley, Dylan Coy, Sam Gidman, Abby Kemp, Hunter Kemp, Alicia London, Olivia McCorrison, Alice Myers, Rhoda, Eli Swanson, Hannah Vail, Amy Waugh, Chloe Waugh, Wellman, Willey and Zimmerman all had personal best times at the meet.

The “Biggest Loser” of the meet was Amy Waugh, who took 28.34 seconds off her 200 IM mark. Runner-up for this award was Hunter Kemp who took a combined total of 17.49 seconds off his 100 free and 50 back times.
