Riitano plays soccer at UMPI

PRESQUE ISLE — Abi Riitano, a resident of Abbot and graduate of Piscataquis Community High School, was a senior defender this past season on the University of Maine-Presque Isle women’s soccer team. Riitano started all 15 games for the Owls, and she had nine shots with eight on goal.

Riitano, who is majoring in pre-med biology/psychiatry, was selected to the 2015 USCAA Soccer National All-Academic Team — a student-athlete must have a 3.5 GPA and sophomore standing or higher to qualify for the honor. Riitano is the daughter of Thomas and Jackie Riitano.

UMaine-Presque Isle finished the season with a record of 5-9-1.
